SENSS Ethnography Writing Group for Post-Fieldwork Students – starting again this term!
Dear SENSS Students,
I am delighted to announce that the SENSS Ethnography Writing Group for Post-Fieldwork Students will be returning in the Autumn term!
This group is designed for students engaged in an ethnographic approach to research, have completed fieldwork and are now in the write-up stage of their projects. Students will have the opportunity to share early-drafts of writing and receive constructive feedback from their peers. The Spring term saw submissions from on a variety of topics, all bound by the common ethos of ethnography, and a supportive group of students all at similar levels of development.
This term’s group will run bi-weekly on Thursdays 16:00-18:00 BST/GMT, on Teams, starting on 8th October 2026. If you would like to participate in the group and/or submit a piece of writing, please scan the QR code on the flyer (attached) and complete the Form 😊
**NB; Submissions are expected to be approximately 3,000-5,000 words long and submitted to the group’s Admin Team a week before the session. The word count is only a guide, submissions outside the word count but still present as a cohesive piece of work (e.g., a section of a chapter, ethnographic vignettes) will still be considered. Early drafts – where you would benefit from feedback the most – are encouraged!
If you have any further questions, please email Tom Parkerson (Administrative Lead) at t.parkerson@uea.ac.uk.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
-Tom Parkerson (SeNSS 1+3, Social Anthropology)
